Paignton Zoo 14th January 2018

Today we went to Paignton Zoo as there had been a baby macaque which has now been named Rowan. When we went to see Rowan he was 4 weeks old and was very active and liked to pose for photos. After we saw Rowan we went off to see all the other animals at the zoo before we headed back home.

This is Ace one of the male macaques at Paignton. This was taken just before the talk which meant they knew that there is food coming so every time Ace saw movement he would stand up to see if it is a keeper.

This is a group of the macaques which I don't know the names to as they all look very similar to me as I do not spend much time with them normally.

The Three above are of baby Rowan the macaque at 4 weeks old with mum Anneke. He was very playful but didn't stay away from mum for too long.

This is baby Kalia who is now 4 months old. She has started to spend more time exploring off her mum now than a few weeks ago when she was sticking very close to mum.

This is Kivu the Western lowland gorilla. It was a surprise to see him and the other two male gorillas out and about as it was a cold day and was past their food time.

Wousan the Bornean Orang-utan the new male.

Naomi the 41 year old grey gibbon who is near the orang-utan islands.

Short nosed echidna

Florrie the giraffe

Coati

Yali the male cub
