On the 18th May we had an outing to Ham Wall for a quick walk to see if we could see the purple heron that was showing from there. Luckily we walked to the hide and about five minutes after we arrived the purple heron flew distantly.
We then continued to have a walk around seeing different birds and insects along the way as well as seeing some highland cattle.
We went to the Avalon hide as the last time we were there we saw lots of hobbies flying around but before we could look for hobbies we noticed all the ducks had flown off the water leading to everyone thinking a bird of prey went over however that was not the case I looked in the water and I saw this tail disappear and turned out there was an otter swimming around.
Once the otter had disappeared I then concentrated on getting some hobby photos. They did not show as well as the first time but still managed a few photos of them.
